Christmas 2011

I always look forward to Christmas, but this year was extra special.  For the first time in the 11 years that we have been married we were at our house on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with just our family.  We started our festivities on Christmas Eve with an early dinner with some of our dearest friends.  Christy and I whipped up an awesome dinner complete with ham, cherry sauce, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, bacon wrapped green beans and rolls.  It was delicious!

The kids table.  They were so cute…

After dinner we stopped by Starbucks to pick up some drinks and headed home to open our Christmas Eve gifts.  Cohen was super excited when he opened his (although I’m not sure he really knew what it was at this point in time).

We all had fun drinking with our crazy straws!

Keegan made a bit of a mess…

I read the boys my all time favorite Christmas book, Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree

Christmas Eve jammies…

Fun with daddy…

Fun with mommy…

Cohen was super excited on Christmas morning to see that Santa had brought what he wanted…bases!

Keegan on his new motorcycle…

A few days after Christmas we headed out of town for more Christmas celebrations!  The first stop was at my dad’s.  Love this picture…

The boys with my Grandmom & Grandad…

B-Pa & Keegan…

After we left my dad’s we headed to Portales for our Charlie Brown Christmas.  Monga did a great job with the stockings (as usual).  The boys had Charlie Brown stockings and the girls had Snoopy stockings.

Keegan and Levi jamming on the piano…

Ready for hot tub time with GranZ…

Silly boy…

We celebrated Daven’s birthday while we were there and Keegan dove into his cupcake…literally…

These two had such a fun time together…

As part of our Christmas Eve festivities, we played some minute-to-win-it games.  The first was a family snowball fight (with paper snowballs)…

Next was Ornament in the Balance…

Nut Stacker…

Fan the Ornament…

Ornament Relay…

Pictures just didn’t do the next two justice.  Enjoy Face the Cookie…

and Jingle in the Trunk…

HILARIOUS!!!

Can you believe Santa made a second stop to see these boys!?!  They must have been really good this year.  ;)  Cohen with some of his favorite gifts…cowboy hat, stick horse and sword…

Keegan looking super cute in his new hooded towel…

And one of my favorite memories from this Christmas…

Yes, that is embroidered toilet paper.  Ask…I’ll tell.  Fun times!  What will next year’s theme be???  It’s neck and neck between Rudolph and the Muppets…guess you’ll have to wait and see!

Awesome pics… I absolutely LUV LUV LUV the silly straws. I am so happy you are carrying on some of the Christmas traditions you grew up enjoying. I still look forward to reading Mr. Willowby’s Christmas tree - even if I have to read it to myself sometimes! HA!
