Just wanted to share some of the Fall/Halloween fun we’ve been having lately! The boys both decorated pumpkins for the pumpkin decorating contest at preschool. Cohen decided to do a “Mr. Pumpkin Head.”

Keegan’s didn’t have a theme…he just decorated his own with marker and some stickers…

Both the boys loved playing with the silly glasses given to Keegan by Mrs. Denise…

We had a great day celebrating Cohen’s birthday. It started with him bursting through the streamers in front of his door when he woke up this morning…

Followed by a hallway full of balloons…

He loved the balloons!

Then we had his requested breakfast, “sprinkle doughnuts from the doughnut place by church.”

We had a few minutes to open a couple of gifts before his blast ball game. His most requested item for his birthday…a bow and arrow…

Oh man…SO hard to believe my baby is FOUR!! Cohen has been the most incredible blessing to us. He is so stinking smart…it constantly keeps us on our toes. He always has something funny to say or do. I saw something the other day that said the average 4 year old asks around 400 questions a day…I think Cohen doubles that. He is CONSTANTLY asking questions and wants to know every detail about everything. His Texas twang cracks us up. Watch the videos below and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Hilarious.
Cohen still loves all sports, but baseball has become his absolute favorite. He loves watching the Rangers and refers to Josh Hamilton as “The Hamslamwich.” He plays with his toys maybe 20% of the time…the rest of the time he wants to play baseball. If we’re able to be outside he wants to be batting. If we have to be inside, he’ll throw the ball up in the air and practice catching with himself or one of us plays catch with him. He begs to play all the time. I’ve decided he’s destined to be an announcer. With how much he talks and the lack of athletic ability being passed down to him it’s my closest guess at his future career.

Working out…
Another thing I love about Cohen right now is his love of music and singing. He loves all kinds of music. He and Keegan both love when daddy is in the car and they all get to drumming when the music is just right. His current favorite thing to listen to…Vampire Weekend. However, his favorite thing to sing is hymns. He’ll still belt out Heavenly Sunlight from time to time, but he’s starting to pick up some of the more current songs as well. He’s had the opportunity to help lead singing at church…
He doesn’t do it on video at home too often, so sometimes we have to be sneaky…like videoing his singing while he’s using the potty…
Goodness…I can’t even begin to put into words how much I love the kid.

This is a video I took at preschool yesterday morning when they sang “Happy Birthday” to him and gave him his birthday spins. Love his face at the end…
Excited about the birthday loot awaiting him…

Some of his 4 year pictures…

Happy, happy birthday, Cohen! I love you!!

The boys started preschool this week. Cohen was really excited about going back and excited to see some of the same kids that were in his class last year.

Here’s Keegan with his teacher, Mrs. Denise…

He LOVES her. He spent the whole drive to school this morning saying, “nise, nise, nise” over and over again. He did great when we dropped him off, no crying, just walked right in and started playing. That was nice, made the transition easier for us all!
Here’s Cohen with is teacher, Ms. Kathy…

He also did great and has really enjoyed being back. He refers to himself as one of the “big kids” at school. Each day he’s told me how he watched out for Keegan and how he helped him down the slide. Awww…melts this momma’s heart!
We’re looking forward to a great year! (And if you’re interested…Christian redid the preschool website this year. I’m partial of course, but I think it’s amazing!)
