A Very Pinterest Christmas

If you have yet to discover Pinterest, please do so as soon as you have finished reading this post.  Your house, your wardrobe, your kids, (maybe not so much your spouse), your recipe collection and your creative side will thank you.  Seriously, it is AWESOME!  So, to get you pinterested (ha, get it!?!), I thought I’d share some of the Pinterest things that I did this Christmas.

First I created this living advent calendar after seeing this one on Pinterest.  We had a stocking for each day leading up to Christmas Day with a piece of paper inside that had a different activity for us to do each day.  It was so fun!!

I have been searching and searching for socking holders that would hold photos, but not cost me a fortune.  I saw these on pinterest and LOVED them.  With the help of my wonderful hubby, we made these stocking holders for less than what one would’ve cost had we bought them.

I saw these cookies on Pinterest and decided to make them for a cookie exchange party I went to.

I saw this unique way of displaying Christmas cards and did it with mine as well.

When I saw this sandwich I knew I had to make it for the boys.  They loved it!

And although, this next idea didn’t exactly come from Pinterest, I did make these and thought I’d show them off anyway…

And last, but certainly not least, I saw a friend make these and knew I had to make some for Christmas gifts…

So, as you can see, Pinterest certainly inspired me this Christmas season.  You should go get inspired yourself!  You’ll thank me later!

The Land

Saturday we went out to  John & Jacki’s land to spend the day just playing and hanging out.  It was so fun.  We all had a blast riding 4 wheelers and the go cart.

I got the strangest feeling when I shot this next picture…it was like my mind jumped ahead to the day Cohen would be driving away with Keegan in the passenger seat.  Glad we still have 13 or so years before that happens!

Keegan got to break in the baby swing…

John took Cohen fishing and they caught 5 fish!

It was a blast!!

Randomness

Just a few random pics today.  First, a flashback to Valentine’s Day and Cohen’s lovely cookie decorating…

Thanks to my friend, Amber, for passing on this picture of Cohen and one of the monkeys at the zoo.  Looks like the monkey knows what to do when the camera comes out!

Cohen showing off his newest tricks…

(yes, that is the string from our blinds that he has tied through the nets…)

Sweet brothers…

Cohen and daddy playing David & Goliath…they each got a turn at being Goliath…

Keegan in his big boy car seat for the first time!

Not much going on around here currently.  Cohen has started blast ball practice with his first game just a few weeks away, so pics of that are sure to come.  We were also able to get Keegan’s one year pictures done this week, so stay tuned for those as well!

My Cuties

Yes, some days are crazy and some days I want to pull my hair out…but more often than not, these boys make my day!

Our tall table makes a great tunnel to ride under…

I actually caught a real smile on camera…

Around our House

Last weekend we were so blessed to have a visit from Aunt Melissa!!  We’ve missed her so much since she moved and it was SO great to have her here for a few days!  It didn’t take Keegan long to warm up to her…

And Cohen was thrilled to have her back for a few days…

She made good on a promise to take Cohen to ride the carousel at the mall…

and gave lots of love to Keegan…

Her future sister-in-law Aspen also came down for a visit while she was here.  Cohen greeted her by being shy (but that didn’t last for too long)…

The girls…

Melissa also helped to watch the boys while I was at work so we could finally get our old carpet ripped out and get our new floors put in.  (And by we I mean my wonderful hubby and our friend Brandon…I must admit I did nothing to help the process other than rip out the carpet and then supervise from there on out).

First section of carpet all rolled up…

No more nasty old carpet!!!

Looking good…

Finally done…

I love the new floors.  One more major project crossed off the list of things that have to be done to this house to get it ready to sell.  I can’t wait!!!!!
