Keegan got his first boat ride now that he’s able to wear sunscreen.  Don’t let the crying fool you, he was sound asleep as soon as the boat started moving.

We started cereal this week.  He seems indifferent to it at this point in time, but is getting used to opening his mouth when the spoon gets close.  We’ll do cereal for another week or so and then start in with veggies!!  I’m contemplating making my own baby food…we’ll see.  Here’s Keegan before his first bite…

Here’s a video of his first bites.  I was thrilled to see how well he did…should’ve kept the camera rolling though cause I think he was just showing off.  As soon as I turned it off he began keeping his mouth closed and blowing the cereal off the spoon.

Monga gave Cohen these goggles while we were there for Melissa’s wedding and the LOVES them.  He hasn’t even worn them in the water, just prefers to play in them…

My accident prone child got yet another cut on his head after he fell off the stool in the bathroom and into the cabinet…ugh…he will now have 4 scars, all on his forehead.

And last but not least…GO RANGERS!!!!!

Cohen puts on his “batting helmet,” grabs a bat, gives me a baseball and a Rangers hat and says, “Mom, you’re Cliff Lee.  Pitch to me, I’m Michael Young and after that I’m going to be Julio Borbon and then I’m going to be Josh Hamilton.”  So fun!!

We left out early on Tuesday morning.  I’m always amazed every time I fly at the view from way up there.  Cohen asked me if this was snow…looks that way doesn’t it?

Once we arrived we just decided that we would walk the 8 blocks from the train station to our hotel since the cable cars (that would take us directly to our hotel) were so busy and packed.  We didn’t realize just how steep some of those SF hills are and of course, our hotel was at the very top of one.  We were exhausted by the time we got to the top.

After catching our breaths we decided to go down to Fisherman’s Wharf…

We had heard about the famous sourdough bread and clam chowder and had both at Boudin…

After lunch, we headed over to Ghirardelli Square and had some ice cream.  YUM!!

We then got the bright idea to rent some bicycles and bike to and across the Golden Gate Bridge…an 8 mile ride.  (I failed to mention to Christian before we rented the bikes that I had not been on a bicycle since elementary school and I had never ridden a bike with gears before…oops!)  It took me a while to get going, but other than the steep hills we had to conquer I think I did pretty well.  Christian might tell a different story…

After we finally crossed the bridge we ate dinner in Sausilito and then took the ferry back across the bay to San Francisco.  (If we were millionaires we would be moving to Sausilito tomorrow…incredible little town we totally fell in love with).  On the way back to SF, we passed right by Alcatraz.

I was so amazed at the cargo ships coming and going…they are HUGE…those boxes on there are the backs of 18 wheelers!!  Incredible they can even stay afloat…

We rode the cable cars quite often, although they’re not the most reliable source of transportation.  They still turn them by hand at the stops…

When we got back to our hotel that evening we found a bottle of champange and some chocolate dipped strawberries waiting on us.  Nice!

The next day we checked out Chinatown.  Not as good as NYC, but the food was good!

We also went back down to the wharf and saw the bush man we had heard about.  He would hide behind these tree branches and jump out and scare people walking by…so childish, but I could’ve watched for hours…hilarious!!

I don’t have any pictures of this, but Wednesday night we had some FABULOUS food at Little Star Pizza and CandyBar.  If you’re ever in SF, these are a MUST…YUMMY!!!

On Thursday, we rented a car and saw a few more sights.  We drove Lombard Street…

and saw The Painted Ladies…

We then headed out to Napa for a few wine tastings at Bell and Biale.  Neither one of us really even like wine, but it was a fun experience and the time we had at Bell was especially nice and fun.

One of the highlights of our trip was getting to eat at Michael Chiarello’s restaurant in Napa, Bottega.  The food there was incredible and the best part…he was there that day and we got to meet him!!  We’ve watched him on PBS for years so it was fun to actually get to taste his food and meet the man himself.

All in all we had a blast.  Missed the kiddos like crazy, but certainly nice to be away for a few days.  Hopefully we won’t have to wait so long before our next trip together!  Happy early anniversary to us!!

He has been gnawing on his hands for weeks now and drooling like crazy and he’s just started chewing and sucking on his bottom lip…so funny and cute, he sounds like a little pig when he’s doing it.  No teeth yet though!

He’s also found his toes over the past month…

Keegan has successfully been Ferberized and it’s so nice just to go lay him in his crib and have him go to sleep.  We haven’t conquered naps yet, but he’s doing good at night.  So hard, but so worth it.

I’m positive all the clothes I bought him during winter clearance sales last year will be too small, but hopefully he’ll be able to wear some of Cohen’s 12 month things once it gets really cold.

We’ve had lots of much needed rain lately and I was so excited to let Cohen play in the gutters for the first time…  He had a blast and so did I!

Keegan hung out in the garage and watched.  Look at those CHEEKS!!!

We went to the zoo recently and the elephants did a few tricks while we were there…

We spent 4th of July out at the lake and had a blast riding on the new raft…

So excited about the fireworks!  (Or maybe it was Shara threatening to tickle them…)  Keegan actually slept through the fireworks and Cohen although awake, was still too tired to be all that interested.

We were in Hobby Lobby the other day and Cohen spotted this little scarecrow and requested I take his picture with it…

I also have to brag on Cohen a little bit…he is 100% officially potty trained…through the night even!!  I’m so proud and it’s SO nice not having to buy him any more diapers.  YEAH!!!

Our first stop was Lubbock where we met up with Grammee and Aunt Melissa.

While we were in Lubbock, we watched Aunt Melissa have her bridal portraits done.  I SO wish I could give you a sneak peak because they are absolutely incredible!!!  If you need a fantastic photographer in Lubbock, you should totally check out Amy Rose King Photography…she’s fabulous!  It also helped that she had an incredibly beautiful subject to photograph!

After we left Lubbock we stopped in Lamesa to have dinner with my grandparents.  And what do little boys get to eat for dinner when with their great grandparents??  ICE CREAM!

After dinner we headed to Big Spring where we would attend the first of Melissa’s bridal showers.  B-Pa was easily suckered into building towers of blocks over and over again so Cohen could bowl them down with his ball.

The ladies in Big Spring put on a lovely shower for Melissa and it was so nice to see old friends.

The next stop on our journey was Portales for the second of Melissa’s bridal showers.  Cohen had been asking for weeks before we left if he could go swimming with GranZ and that is the very first thing he did…

After the Portales shower we headed back to Big Spring to break up our drive back home.

On our way back home from Big Spring is where our trip unfortunately hit a bump in the road or should I say another car on the road.  Just outside of Eastland, about and hour and a half from our house, a truck next to me began to hydroplane and he lost control.  He slid into me sending us both into the median on I-20.  All I could see was us heading in the direction of the oncoming traffic so I began to turn away from it which spun my car around and we hit the same truck this time on the opposite side of my car.  AHHHH…SO SO SCARY!!!  Fortunately, many people had lifted prayers of safety for me and they boys before we left and I know God was watching over us.  It could’ve been so much worse and we all walked away without any injury what so ever.  Praise the Lord!!!  The damage to the car isn’t really even that bad considering…

The one thing the pictures just didn’t capture was how much grass was covering my car and stuck in each and every crevice…crazy.

All in all, we had a wonderful trip and it was so much fun seeing all of our family and friends.  Just 3 weeks until the big wedding!  Can’t wait!

These two little guys are SO blessed to have such an amazing daddy.  He is the best!  We love you!!

Awww…my cute boy!!  Keegan is becoming less work and more fun (with the exception of sleep…but Ferberization is coming soon)!  He is laughing a lot more and is really good at squealing…it’s so fun to have a little squealing conversation with him.  He has been trying SO hard to roll from his back to his tummy but that arm just wouldn’t get out of the way…

Well, he finally made it over the other day.  Now he’s a pro, but seems to have forgotten how to roll over onto his back again.  I know it won’t be long before he is cruising all over the place.  I’m trying to enjoy these non-mobile months while I can!

He checked out great at his 4 month check up…25 1/2 inches tall (50th percentile) and 16.4 lbs (75th percentile).  Here’s my baby at 4 months (the first time I’ve thought he and Cohen are beginning to resemble one another)…
